Halloween

We got to spend this Halloween in San Diego.
Avery had SO much fun hanging out with her cousins
and going trick-or-treating for the first time! {Our little bumble bee}

{Kaya the ladybug}

{SO excited to go trick-or-treating!}

{Avery & Kaya...ready to go}

{the first house}
I wish I had gotten a picture at the second house...as soon as they opened the door, Avery walked right in like she ownedd the place and headed over to their front window to get a closer look at the giant owl decoration they had there.
It was pretty funny!

After trick-or-treating, we headed back for our

{and ice cream witches for dessert}

Howdy!!

from the State Fair of Texas...We headed out to the State Fair on Wednesday with MeMe.

Here we are checking out Big Tex!
Avery has a Texas ABC's book and "B" is Big Tex.
We brought the book and she kept looking at the picture and then up at Big Tex...

a Fletchers Corny Dog & Big Tex...
now you know we're at the fair!

We also had a burrito, caramel apple & fresh squeezed lemonade...yum!

We chose not to partake in the fried food extravaganza...
but if we had, some of the choices were, fried pecan pie, fried oreos, fried lattes?, fried cheesecake and the big one this year...fried butter (yuck!)

Avery wanted NOTHING to do with the Corny Dog!

Avery's favorite part of the fair was the petting zoo...
a Texas Longhorn

feeding the goats..."here, try it"

more goats
a HUGE camel!

and a cow...

they also had donkeys, zebras, emus, ostriches, alpacas, bison, a mama pig with her piglets and a kangaroo with a joey in it's pouch!

pumpkins!

On Monday, Avery & I met our friends Dena & Hudson and Leslie & Griffin at the Pumpkin Patch. It's been rainy and wet, and needless to say the pumpkin patch was a BIG mud pit!!!

But we went anyways and the kids had a great time!

Look at how much fun they are having!

This is one of my favorite pictures of the day!

Giddy Up Pumpkin!

Hugs for Griffin.

Checking out the pumpkins with Hudson.

I'm gonna get you, Griffin!

Don't they look deep in conversation!?

This is such a typical Avery picture...

tongue out taking it all in!

peek-a-boo!

Mommy & Avery

This is the little pumpkin Avery picked out.

Oktoberfest

Saturday night we checked out the Southlake Oktoberfest.
Live music, food & vendors...
Avery's favorite was the live music.
They has a pretty good Beatles Cover Band and Avery got busy dancing!

she was having a GREAT time!

She also made a new friend while we were there...
Sitting next to us while we watched the band was a mother and her 14 year old son, Jason.
Avery was completely taken with Jason.
She walked up to him and handed him her kitty...then went back to dancing.
I reached over and told the boy thank you, and took the kitty back.
As soon as Avery realized Jason no longer had the kitty and Mommy did, she walked right up to me, took the kitty and handed it back to Jason!
She did this several times...each time someone else would take the kitty, she would march up, get it and take it back to Jason! So we finally had her put the kitty in her stroller (I mean, a 14 year old boy does not want to sit around holding a stuffed animal!)
Well, since Avery no longer had the kitty to hand to him, she just decided to give him hugs instead!!!
It was so cute & sweet, ans Jason was SO nice about the whole thing!!!
The funny thing is, his Mom says this kind of thing happens to him all the time and that little kids just love him!

One more thing...
how wrong is this???
(and yes, it's a man!)
