REAL smiles!

having your baby smile back at you has got to be the best feeling in the world!

Avery's 1st day of school

So really it's only a one day a week
Mother's Day Out program, but still...
I can't believe she is starting school!!!
Here she is in the car ready to go Walking up to the school
Heading into the school
and straight to her classroom
She had no problem leaving me!
She walked right in, straight back to the toys and another little girl and started playing without a goodbye or even a second glance at me {sniff sniff}.
I guess she was ready for school!

She had SO much fun and can't wait to go back next week!!!

Wordless Wednesday

simple sweater update

So yesterday I had about 30 min when BOTH kids were napping.
This project has been on my brain for a while & I finally decided to just knock it out.
I have been loving all the embellished clothing lately at places like J.Crew, Anthropologie & Loft
I have also had this plain old white cardigan for YEARS, but it has been hanging in my closet {unworn} for a couple of years now. I figured all it needed was a little ruffle.

Voila!

Here is what it looked like before...boring!

Want to know how it did it?

Supplies:

old white cardigan

1 2yd package of 3/4" wide twill tape, white

sewing machine & white thread

Step 1: set your sewing machine stitch length to the longest option, sew down the center of the twill tape from beginning to end. Pull the thread to ruffle the twill tape.

Step 2: Reset your stitch length to the normal setting. Decide where you want the ruffle to go on your cardigan (I started at the bottom and took it all the way up to the shoulder seam on one side). Lay your ruffle on to the sweater and sew right up the center of the ruffle, back stitching at the beginning and end.

That's it! So easy and turns an old sweater into a brand new one!!!

My kids are attached...

...to their umbilical cord that is!
Here is Greyson at 5wks, still firmly attached

and here is Avery at 4 wks, with the cord still holding on tight.
{I think she finally lost hers around 6 wks}
Don't they say it's supposed to fall off in 1-3 weeks???
We are ready for it to go...
hello real bath!

Newborn pictures

We had newborn pictures taken of Baby Greyson 2 weekends ago by the AMAZING Nell at Cowtown Camera Girl {If you need a photographer in the DFW area, this is your girl!}
I absolutely LOVE the pictures she took...as always!
Hop on over to her blog to see a few more.
Isn't this the sweetest shot!?!

Avery's first pair of REEF's...

aren't these the cutest!?!Avery has worn them every day since we got them.
Thanks MeMe!!!

and speaking of feet...
I love this picture of Greyson & Avery's feet side-by-side
I keep looking and Avery and thinking how big she seems now that we have brought baby Greyson home. She seemed so small until we had a newborn baby to compare her to {and really she is still so little & petite...she just seems BIG!}
