water bottle label tutorial

Personalized water bottle labels are a cute, easy an inexpensive way to give your party a custom look. I'm going to show you just how easy it is!
Step ONE: Design your label
I used Microsoft Works, but any word processing program should work.
You can play around with the fonts and sizes, but you should fit 5 labels on letter size (8 1/2 x 11) paper. Make sure it is in portrait for the orientation.
For these labels I used a font called Leftovers at 65pt. and inserted pictures at the front and end of my words. Then I copied and pasted it four more times.
Once you are happy with your design, it's time to print!

Step TWO: Cut your labels
I cut my labels into 1 1/2" strips, the 8 1/2" length of the paper was perfect for wrapping around my water bottles and did not need to be trimmed down.
Ideally you would use a paper cutter, but since I don't have one I used my handy-dandy rotary cutter & mat! :)
Step THREE: Remove your labels
I got my water bottles at Costco and the labels were SO easy to remove!!

Step FOUR: Adhere the labels
I used clear packing tape to adhere my labels to the water bottles and to help make them water-proof. Just cut a strip of tape slightly longer than the label. Center it over the label carefully (something about the static makes the label kindof pop up onto the tape when you get close). Then tape the label onto your bottles. {I found that starting in the middle and working may way out to each end seemed to work best}

Step FIVE: Keep going until all your bottles are done

Step SIX: Admire your cute water bottles!!

Now, wasn't that easy!?

Christmas Day

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...
Good Morning!!!
{this little one slept until 9am...
probably the last year for that for a looooong time!}

Avery was a good girl this year!
She is learning to share & is excellent at using please & thank you!
She was definitely on Santa's Nice List!
Santa brought her....

kitty rain boots

LOTS of books!
{Thomas the Train, Finding Nemo Golden Book, "Slowly, Slowly, Slowly" said the Sloth by Eric Carle, and Freight Train by Donald Crews}

and her FAVORITE gift by far...

a Thomas the Train set!!!!
{which has been played with EVERY day since!}

Last we opened the stockings

poor Daddy only got coal in his stocking! :)
{Lump of Coal beer, coal chocolates, charcoal soap and black dress socks rolled into balls! ha ha, that Santa is so clever...or maybe it was Mrs. Claus!}

Later that day (once the icy roads had melted) we headed over to Grandma & Papa's house. They have a BIG family, so Christmas over there is crazy & fun!

look at that Christmas tree!!!

Avery & Ellie both got doll houses

and Noah got a Space Ship!
I hope you and your family also had a wonderful Christmas!
"Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!"

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we had most of Mike's family over for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner...tamales & Christmas Eve salad!
After dinner, we had Avery open up her gifts from Mommy & Daddy...
we tried to keep it fairly mellow this year.
She got a bunch of books
here she is with Grandma reading Madeline's Christmas
{she also got Madeline in America and If You Take a Mouse to the Movies}

Daddy got her a toy trash truck, which she LOVED!!!

and Mommy got her a family band...
here is everyone playing instruments, while Avery danced in the center of the circle and sang Jingle Bells {her favorite Christmas song!}

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...

It continued to snow all Christmas Eve afternoon, and actually started sticking to the ground!
You can really see it coming down in this picture as Avery & Daddy get bundled up to go play in the snow...

there was even enought to build this tiny snowman...

and here is what our house looked like Christmas morning...
it really was a white Christmas!!!
